Privacy Policy

Atlas Eight ("Atlas Eight", "we", "us", or "our") is a mental-wellness and self-reflection application for iOS, Android, and web. Atlas Eight is operated by LKT (Lesley Klinke Torkelund), based in Denmark. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
By creating an account or using Atlas Eight, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and authentication information. When you create an account you can sign up with an email address and password, with Sign in with Google, or with Sign in with Apple, all handled through Google Firebase Authentication. We collect your email address and, when you use Google or Apple sign-in, basic profile identity such as your name and (if you provide it) profile photo.
- Content you create in the app. Atlas Eight stores the content you choose to create, including: your profile (name, email, and profile photo URL); journal entries; daily and weekly reflections and mood ratings; personal goals and your progress toward them; gratitude entries; and any mood posts you choose to share in community features.
- Uploaded images. If you add photos to your goal mood-boards, those images are uploaded and stored on our behalf.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we collect a device push token so we can deliver reminders and updates.
- Subscription and purchase information. On iOS and Android, if you buy a premium subscription it is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and by our subscription manager, RevenueCat. We receive subscription status (for example, whether your subscription is active). We do not see or store your full payment card details — payment is handled entirely by the app store.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create, secure, and manage your account
- Provide the core features of the app — journaling, reflections, mood tracking, goals and progress, gratitude, and community features
- Store your content so it is available across your devices
- Send push notifications you have enabled, such as reminders
- Provide and manage premium subscriptions and confirm entitlements
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the app
- Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Use and applicable law
3. Third-party services and processors
We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to operate Atlas Eight. They process information only to provide their service to us:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), file storage (Firebase Storage), and push messaging (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Your account and app content are stored on Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Apple and Google — for "Sign in with Apple", "Sign in with Google", and, on mobile, for processing in-app subscription purchases.
- RevenueCat — manages and validates in-app subscription status on iOS and Android.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app to you. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your associated information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it longer for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you may have the right to:
- Access the information associated with your account
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data
To request access, correction, or deletion of your account and data, email us at mindrealm.app@gmail.com and we will help you. You can also stop using the app and remove it from your device at any time.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, and we rely on the security of Google Firebase / Google Cloud for storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Atlas Eight is intended for users aged 13 and over, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For users who meet this minimum age, we process the personal data needed to provide the app on the legal basis of performance of our contract with you (delivering the service you sign up for) — we do not rely on consent for this core functionality. Under Danish law the age of digital consent is 13, consistent with our 13+ minimum. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. International transfers
Atlas Eight is operated from Denmark and relies on Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure, so your information may be processed in countries outside the one where you live, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your own.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and we will update the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
